Cynthia Bailey Pays Tribute to Her Father Eligah After His Death: “Grateful for the Beautiful Memories”

Cynthia Bailey is mourning a serious loss in her family.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s father, Eligah Bailey, passed away on December 10. Cynthia confirmed the news of the Alabama-based Baptist Church deacon’s passing on Instagram a day later.

In the days that have followed, Cynthia has posted several tributes to her late father online, and many Bravolebrities sent along their condolences in the comments section. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 1 cast member shared a throwback photo featuring her father and her sister, Mal Bailey, on December 11.

In the caption, she wrote, “Rest in peace[,] Daddy. Thank you all for the phone calls, texts [and] well wishes everyone.”

A few days later, on December 17, Cynthia posted another throwback photo; this time featuring one of her past modeling headshots. In the caption of her post, Cynthia shared that her dad always kept this framed photo close by.

“Daddy[,] I know that we were not in the best place when you passed but we always agreed to disagree [and] respected each other’s space. All I wanted to ever do was be a good daughter [and] make you proud of me,” she wrote. “I was so touched with all that we have been through (the [ups and] downs) together that the entire time you always kept this photo of me close to you. The whole time. I now have it [and] will keep it close to me as well.”

“I promise as you look down on me from heaven that I will continue to try to make you proud. Grateful for the beautiful memories,” she continued. “Those are the only ones that really matter in the end. I love you. I am sorry. Forgive me. Rest in peace.”

Bravolebrities Send Cynthia Bailey Love and Support After Her Father’s Passing
Shortly after Cynthia shared the news of her father’s death on Instagram, many Bravolebrities took to the comments section to relay heartfelt messages.

“I love you Cynthia and like I told you when you told me about your dad’s passing I’m just a call away!” RHOA alum/Married to Medicine cast member Phaedra Parks wrote. “Praying for your peace, strength and courage. May the wonderful memories y’all shared sustain you during this difficult time.”
