Did Kirlyam Have A Modeling Career After 90 Day Fiancé?

Kirlyam Cox from Brazil wanted to become a model during 90 Day Fiancé season 1 while her American husband Alan Cox showed extreme signs of jealousy.

90 Day Fiancé season 1’s Kirlyam Cox wanted to be a model, but did she pursue her dream? Los Angeles native Alan Cox was 29 years old when he starred on the show with his Brazilian fiance Kirlyam. She was coming to the U.S. on a K-1 visa for 90 days after they met while Alan was traveling to Brazil. During episode 1 of the show, Alan, who’s a Mormon, said he was on a mission. When Kirlyam opened the door, he felt like there was an angel in front of him. It was later revealed that Kirlyam was about 11 years old when Alan went to Brazil as a missionary.

Kirlyam is from the city of Goiânia, which is mostly farmland. She had never been out of the city, and only really visited neighboring towns. Kirlyam had to face several cultural differences after coming to the U.S. Kirlyam, who was 21 years old at the time, was leaving her mom, dad, and brother behind to move to America. Alan took Kirlyam to the Hollywood Walk of Fame when she arrived. She loved watching movies growing up and was a big fan of Johnny Depp. Alan admitted he was insecure about someone walking up to Kirlyam and asking her if she wanted to sign up to be a model.

With 81 days left for the wedding, Alan took Kirlyam to a salon. The hairstylist Andrea told Kirlyam she was “definitely pretty enough to be on camera.” She felt it would be “so easy” for Kirlyam to make it big in LA as a model. She even knew someone who could help Kirlyam with “at least a chance.” Andrea gave Kirlyam her friend Natasha’s number and asked Kirlyam to give her a call to email her pictures, etc. “It’s a really big agency,” Andrea told Kirlyam.

Kirlyam had never given modeling a thought before, but she was excited to tell Alan about Andrea saying she could be a model. Alan was worried about “shady people” in the modeling world influencing his relationship with Kirlyam. “I will be next Gisele Bündchen,” Kirlyam joked. Alan was “scared” for Kirlyam. “It does kind of bug me,” said Alan, who was wondering what would happen once Kirlyam started modeling professionally. Kirlyam was elated when the agency contacted her and set her up for a test shoot with a photographer. Alan hesitated “as a Mormon” in Kirlyam wearing anything “short” and “raunchy.”

Kirlyam Modeled Professionally In 2015

Kirlyam did her test shoot successfully in episode 4. Alan grew jealous when Kirlyam didn’t pick up her phone during the shoot. “Promise […] you won’t leave me?” Alan asked Kirlyam after the photo session. Agents wanted to book Kirlyam already. In January 2015, Kirlyam posted a video announcing she attended her first “real” photo shoot. It was a shoot for a clothing brand called Beata Dirycz. Alan had accompanied Kirlyam, and she documented the day in a vlog on her YouTube page. “Guess what I didn’t get jealous, not even once,” Alan said at the end of the video.

Kirlyam Is Focusing On Being A Mom & Wife

However, it was probably the last time Kirlyam ever modeled professionally. Kirlyam welcomed her son, Liam Jordan da Costa Cox, in October 2017. In May 2021, Kirlyam welcomed her second son, Enzo Cox. The couple was last seen in April 2020 on 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantined, where they revealed they moved to North Carolina and are trying to fit in the East Coast life. Kirlyam has over 254k followers on Instagram but doesn’t appear to want an influencer life because of how sparsely she posts on Instagram. 90 Day Fiancé’s Kirlyam seems to be happy being a mom and a wife and has let go of her modeling dreams.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
