The reality TV show reunites long-distance couples in America as they look forward to wed within just 90 days or call it quits on the K-1 fiancé visa. Not all relationships stand the test, but several couples have proved fans wrong by staying together even today.

It’s time for an update on the couples from 90 Day Fiancé season 1, who got married almost 10 years ago. 10 seasons in, the OG 90 Day Fiancé series is still providing fans with the same format and nearly all fresh couples each season. The franchise has been so popular it has become an enigma, with many spinoffs and awards to its name.

Alan & Kirlyam Cox

90 Day Fiancé fans met Alan, a 29-year-old from Los Angeles, California, and his partner Kirlyam, a 21-year-old from Goiânia, Brazil, on season 1 in 2014. Kirlyam had come to the U.S. from Brazil on a K-1 visa. The way Alan and Kirlyam met before filming for reality TV was a controversial tale. Kirlyam’s family had become a part of the Mormon Church when she was 11, and the family met Alan a year later when he was in a group of American Mormon missionaries in Brazil. Alan was 20 years old back then. Alan came back to Brazil eight years later to attend a wedding. That’s when he met Kirlyam again, and the two began dating.

The couple got married in September 2013. Their first son, Liam, was born in October 2017. Alan and Kirlyam welcomed their second child, another son, in September 2021 and named him Enzo. Alan and Kirlyam celebrated 10 years of marriage on September 8, 2023. Alan captioned his post, “A decade of memories, growth, and endless happiness.” Kirlyam and Alan aren’t too active on Instagram, but their relationship is still going strong, as their updates reveal. Their son Liam has already started going to school. The couple appears to be living in North Carolina, where Alan works as a project manager and freelance graphic designer.

Russ & Paola Mayfield

Bucaramanga, Colombia, woman Paola was 26 when she came to the U.S. to marry Russ. The man from Owasso, Oklahoma, was a 27-year-old working for a petroleum company. Russ met Paola in Colombia when he was there on a work assignment. Paola and Russ got married in October 2013 and settled down in Oklahoma before moving to Miami, Florida, so that Paola could launch her career in modeling and fitness. They welcomed their son Axel in January 2019. Paola and Russ’s marriage hit a breaking point during the COVID-19 pandemic after Russ lost his job, and they quarreled over their share of responsibilities. They briefly split in August 2021.

After spending eight years together, Paola and Russ sought therapy to reconcile things. Paola, now a professional wrestler and nutrition coach, is no longer the family’s sole earning member. It’s been a year now that Russ has been dabbling in voice-over acting. Paola and Russ celebrated their tenth anniversary on October 8, 2023. Paola was in the news recently when she underwent breast implant surgery in August 2023. She’s also keeping herself busy by modeling. Russ has made it clear that he’s “let go of their drama” when asked if he’s returning to reality TV with Paola in a recent conversation with a fan.

Louis & Aya Gattone

Louis and Aya haven’t returned to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise since season 1 in 2014, but their love story is one to be remembered. Aya, from Ormoc in the Philippines, left her home behind to move to America and marry Indianapolis man Louis. Aya, then 33, and Louis, a 37-year-old father of two, had connected on an online dating website back in January 2012. Louis came across Aya on the site on January 15 and had already fallen in love with her by March 10, 2023. Ideally, Aya wanted Louis to move to her country. But Louis had two young kids from his previous marriage, so the move wasn’t possible for the pair.

Louis’ ex-wife, who was still close to him because of the kids, also accepted Aya. But Aya had issues with Louis trying to save money by cutting corners during the wedding. Eventually, the pair was able to make things work. They married in 2013 and are still living in the U.S. The couple has welcomed two sons of their own in addition to Louis’ elder sons’ who have a good relationship with Aya. Unfortunately, Louis hasn’t shared any updates recently, and Aya’s Instagram is private; hence, there’s no way of knowing what they are doing in 2023.

Mike & Aziza Eloshway

Cleveland resident Mike and his Russian bride Aziza were a part of 90 Day Fiancé season 1’s four memorable pairs. Mike had met Aziza online, where they were both looking to learn a new language. Mike did not think he would fall for someone in a different country, but he became friends with the Volgograd-based woman who was trying to get a work visa to the U.S. However, when Aziza’s visa was denied, she and Mike applied for the K-1 visa. Aziza moved to Ohio in the summer of 2013, but their journey to the aisle wasn’t romantic. Mike’s family doubted Aziza’s intentions because of her rejected work visa.

Mike’s mother had even confronted Aziza about it at her bachelorette party. Moreover, Aziza wasn’t comfortable getting physical with Mike. There was a sizable age difference between the couple. Mike was 31 years old, and Aziza was 21, adding to her initial awkwardness. But when Aziza saw Mike being flirty with other women, it prompted her to become intimate with him. Mike and Aziza married in October 2013 and welcomed a baby girl named Olivia Joan in January 2019. Everything looked like it was going well between the two, but in June 2023, Mike was charged by the Cleveland federal court with two counts of possessing inappropriate child videos.

Mike was eventually released but was placed under several restrictions. Apart from limited access to computers and the internet, Mike was banned from coming into contact with minors. He was accused of possessing a computer that had inappropriate content and at least one image of a child below 12 years old. Mike has since deactivated his Instagram while his wife has set her account to private, but it’s suspected the 90 Day Fiancé couple is still married and together.
